ArtZone Summer Camps – Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are the camp hours?
Camp runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

2. Where is the camp located?
Camps will be based at our exciting new "Art Hub" near the Orient Chairlift, with some activities taking place off site but within walking distance. Final location details will be provided prior to each camp week.

3. What should my child bring each day?

  • A packed lunch and two snacks.

  • A refillable water bottle – we have water stations available.

  • A hat, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing.

  • A bike and helmet (if biking is scheduled that week – this will be confirmed in your info package).

  • A backpack to carry everything.

  • Please label all items with your child’s name!

4. What should my child wear?
Campers should dress for mess and movement! We recommend:

  • Comfortable clothing that can get dirty (art can be messy!).

  • Closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor play and activities.

  • Layers for changing mountain weather.

5. Will camp still run in bad weather?
Yes! We have an inclement weather plan in place. Sun Peaks Resort has generously allowed us to use the tented area by the Umbrella Café, and indoor activities will be prioritized during heavy rain or poor weather. Workshops will run rain or shine.

6. How many camp staff will be present?
Each camp week will be staffed by 2 experienced camp leaders, with additional guest instructors or volunteers for specific workshops and activities when needed. All staff and camp hosts have a clear Criminal Record Check on file.

7. What is a typical day like?
Each day is split between guided art activities (including structured workshops and open-ended creative time) and active play, such as biking, soccer, outdoor games, and free exploration. We aim to balance creativity, activity, and fun.

8. What ages is the camp for?
ArtZone Summer Camps are designed for children aged 6–12. If your child turns 6 before the end of 2025, they are welcome to join in.

9. Is there early drop-off or late pick-up available?
At this time, we are not offering extended care. Camp drop-off is at 9:00 AM and pick-up is at 4:00 PM.

10. Who runs the camp?
ArtZone is a community-based non-profit committed to bringing arts and culture to Sun Peaks. Our camps are led by experienced staff and guest instructors passionate about youth development, creativity, and fun!

11. What if my child has allergies or medical needs?
Please indicate any allergies, medical conditions, or special considerations on your registration form. Our team will do our best to accommodate individual needs and ensure a safe environment.

12. Can I sign up for more than one week?
Absolutely! Each week has different themes and activities, so campers are welcome to join multiple sessions.

13. What is the registration process?
Registration opens in early June. Camp spots can be reserved by purchasing a ticket through Humanitix – links will be available on each individual camp week listing.
Once you've completed the registration form at the bottom of the camp description you’ll be directed to Humanitix to pay for your child/ren.
Additional details specific to your chosen camp week (such as location, activities, and what to bring) will also be sent to the email address provided during booking closer to the start date of the camp.

14. Do I have to book a full week or are there drop in options?
We recommend booking the full week to guarantee your child’s spot, as camps are expected to fill up quickly. Drop-in options may be offered, but only based on availability, and will be released closer to the start of each camp week. Stay tuned to our website or social media for updates on drop-in availability.

15. Is there a sibling discount available?
Yes! We offer a sibling discount for families registering more than one child. This discount applies to week-long camp bookings only and can be accessed directly through the Humanitix ticketing link when registering.

16. Can lunch be included?
Yes! We can order lunch through Sun Peaks Resort, a bagged lunch includes:
Sandwich (vegetarian and gluten-free options available)
Cookie
Fruit
Water or pop
The cost is $25 per person. Please let us know via email to admin@artzonesunpeaks.com if you’d like to order.
