The main thing to remember is to keep your supplies to a minimum! Arrive prior to 10:00 at the bottom of the Sunburst Chairlift. You will be required to carry your supplies in a backpack up the chairlift. If you are not comfortable with carrying your supplies, please arrive prior to 9:00 to have your supplies driven to the top of the mountain. You will still take the chairlift at 10:00. You will be required to carry your supplies for distances so make sure to pack light and to a minimum.
Plein Air Supply List- Acrylics
Paints- Titanium White, Cad Yellow, Cad Yellow Light, Transparent Iron Oxide, Alizarin Crimson (Quinacridone Crimson), Quinacridone Red, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, Green Gold (Azo Green), Sap Green.
Mediums- small container of Gloss Medium (pill bottles work well)
Easel- Pochade painting box or a standing easel.
Chair or stool -lightweight
Sketch Book (small) and pencil/eraser and or fine black marker
View Finder -adjustable store bought one or cut two L shapes out of paper or light weight cardboard.
Brushes-bring a small variety of your favourite brushes plus one to tone canvas.
Stay Wet Palette- These are very helpful when painting outside! Pre-soak sponge and papers (bring in a Ziplock bag).
Small Spray Bottle of water
Small Water Container – Bring extra water in a plastic bottle.
Canvases- 2 small panels or canvases in different sizes (formats) eg. 5x7, 6x6, 8x10, 8x8, 8x12, 6x12 etc.
Paper Towels – A few folded in a zip-lock bag
Garbage Bag- small bag to take rags and garbage with you
Camera - or iphone
Other- hat, with a brim, bug spray, sun screen, snacks, lunch, lots of water to drink. If you have a standing easel bring a bungee cord to attach to your easel and backpack to prevent wind from blowing your masterpiece over! Wear layered lightweight clothing that you can shed if it gets hot.

Tip: Squeeze small amount of colours that you’ll not use much of into ¼ oz plastic paint cups. Michaels has them ‘Artist’s Loft Plastic Paint Cups’. Very handy when you want to lighten your load!
Easel- Pochade painting box or a standing easel.
Folding Chair or stool -lightweight
View Finder- either a store bought adjustable one or cut two L shapes from paper or light cardboard.

Solvent- small tin or jar
Medium- small container of 50/50 Gamsol/Walnut oil and or Neo-megilp

Wet Painting Carrier- you can make one out of corrugated plastic from Michaels.
