The Sun Peaks Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing the raw talent of the local filmmakers and creatives who call these mountains home. This is an opportunity for local creators to share their unique vision and connect with a larger audience.

Submission Requirements

- Deadline: December 15, 2026

- Filmmakers must reside within a 100km radius of Sun Peaks.

- Limit of 1-2 submissions per filmmaker.

- Only unfunded, grassroots films are eligible for prizes. All films, funded or not, are welcome for non-competitive screening in the showcase.

- All submissions must be PG-rated, culturally respectful, and free of hate speech or explicit content, with documented permission for any Indigenous themes.

- Must be original work with all necessary permissions for footage, talent, and locations.

- Disclose any AI assistance; AI must not replace creative work.

- Films are scored on storytelling, technical quality (sound/visuals) and originality.

- By submitting, filmmakers grant permission for screening and promotional use by Art Zone.

Short Film
Craft a short film that tells a story through adventure. Whether it’s a moment, a person, or an idea, focus on an outdoor activity or sport and capture the excitement and emotion that make adventure unforgettable. Your film can be set anywhere - Sun Peaks isn’t required.
